About Us

In 1986 Rick Sova decided to make a personal dream a reality - and Cornerstone was born. In the beginning there was Rick, one employee and a trusty old 1974 F150 pick up truck (which incidentally he'd purchased from his Grandfather). Rick was clear on his objective - to offer residential design and build services - professional landscaping.
By 1989 Cornerstone had established itself in the residential market place and now had five employees. The company was growing and in this year maintenance services where added. 1989 was also a personal high point for Rick as the company was now able to purchase much needed new vehicles and equipment |

Business continued to grow unabated, and in 1992 Cornerstone was now a thirty-something employer. Even more equipment was added and Cornerstone incorporates. To address the need for quality supplies, Cornerstone opened its garden center called "Homegrown". And to handle the increasing demand from clients further North, the Barrie location opened in 1997.
Continued growth and expansion meant in 1999 "Homegrown" was amalgamated into a new company acquisition - the 25 acre location Kengrove. In 2002 Cornerstone moved its office and control centre into 26 Bramsteele Road, Brampton - where it will remain until the development of the new HQ is completed later in 2003.
Cornerstone is now in its seventeenth year, the company has been recognized by numerous local businesses and city officials as a valued member of the community. Employing over 60 people and providing residential and commercial services across Southern Ontario, Cornerstone and Kengrove are making a positive impact on the environment both personally with its varied contributions and donations to worthy causes, and professionally with the high calibre of staff and services it provides.
Now is our 20th year.
